Hinote, 33, spent nine seasons in the NHL, recording 38 goals and 52 assists in 503 career games with Colorado (1999-2006) and St. Louis (2006-09). He helped the Avalanche win the 2001 Stanley Cup.

The Florida native wrapped up his playing career last season with Modo in the Swedish Elite League.
